Global Photo Project 2026 is here!
Photography is special because it connects people everywhere, no matter where they live or what language they speak. With just a photo, we can share moments and stories with everyone.
We have held the Global Photo Project twice, in 2024 and 2025. It has shown how photography brings people together. Many photographers from different countries joined. The photos were really nice. You can see all the pictures in the galleries.
Now it’s time to do it again.
On August 19th, 2026, I hope you will join the Global Photo Project. We can celebrate the birthday of photography together.
What is the Global PhotoProject?
The Global Photo Project is for everyone, no matter your age or how much you know about photography. On August 19, 2026, just take a photo of what is around you. Together, we can show how different and beautiful our world is in one day.
It does not matter if you are a beginner or a professional. Your way of seeing the world is special. That is what we want to see.
How to Participate?
It is easy to join:
Register. Go to our registration page and sign up. Then you will get all the updates and instructions.
👉 Already registered last year? You’re all set — no need to sign up again. 👈
(And if you’d rather sit this one out, simply unsubscribe from this newsletter and you won’t hear from the Project again.)
Take your photo. On August 19th, 2026, take a picture that shows how you see the world. You can choose any subject you like.
Submit your photo. I will send you the upload link after August 19th, 2026. When you get it, upload your photo to our website. Please keep the original metadata in your photo, so I can see it was taken on August 19th. If you have people in your photo, ask them if it is okay to share.
What Can You Photograph?
You can take a photo of anything you like. If you need ideas, here are some:
Portraits — the people around you, their expressions and emotions
Landscapes — mountains, rivers, parks, beaches, the beauty of nature
Street scenes — everyday life in your city or town
Wildlife — animals in their natural habitats
Macro — the small details we usually walk past: insects, flowers, textures
Why Participate?
For one day, you can be part of something bigger:
It is a global celebration. You will take photos at the same time as many people around the world, for the same reason.
You might get your photo published in a book. Every photo will also be in our online gallery.
You can also be part of a community. Share your photos and stories, and meet other photographers from different places.
Looking Ahead
The Global Photo Project is not just a one-time event. Every year on August 19th, we will do it again. We will take photos, celebrate, and see the world in new ways. Every year, there will be new photos and new friends.
Join Us and Make a Difference
I am excited to see what you will photograph. Your photo will be part of a big collection that shows how beautiful and different life is on August 19, 2026.
